Welcome to my website!

I am assistant professor of physics and core faculty in the theoretical astrophysics program at the University of Arizona.  I work on the theory of strong gravitational and electromagnetic fields, as occur near black holes and neutron stars.  While most of my research is astrophysically motivated, I occasionally venture into more theoretical territory like black hole thermodynamics.  A more detailed description can be found on my research page.

You can also find teaching information, career stuff, and (click at your own risk!) a personal section.

I enjoy public speaking and am generally available to speak to the media.  Here is a video of a public lecture I gave as part of the university's 2017 lecture series "Rethinking Reality".
