A Comparative Study of Nanotechnology Development in US and China: Trend, Topic Evolution and Key Players
This study uses patent data from USPTO and SIPO as the proxy to compare the nanotechnology
markets in US and China. We employ bibliographic analysis, topic modeling and trend analysis,
and social network analysis to compare the market trends, to identify the most addressed R&D
topics,
the most important players (i.e., research institutions and companies), and to understand the
collaboration
patterns between patent assignees on different markets.
